The Boundary Way Project is so excited to be announcing their new virtual seasonal programme, ‘Winter Wonder’. Made possible through funding from the Culture Recovery Fund for heritage, the online series of content is designed to inspire and motivate during this time of further lockdown and social distancing, especially as we move into the Winter season.
“The programme is our way of bringing as many people as possible together online creatively and with nature to explore new ways of connecting in these unprecedented times. The sessions will aim to lift spirits, inspire and create new connections through the chillier months”

The programme, which will all take place on Zoom, begins with a fascinating session led by herbalist Maria Billington:

‘A Herbal Christmas’ will explore simple science experiments and making ideas to create festive gifts. Maria will look at how herbs and nature can help us guide ourselves safely through the dark months. The experiments and making ideas will include; making vinegar, bathsalts, creating an ointment and a festive aperitif. The workshop will take place on Wednesday the 25th of November from 10.30-12pm.

This will be followed by a creative Christmas making session not to be missed, with Queenie’s Floral Design:

Natural and wild,  a celebration of winter and so much more in this Seasonal Wreath Making Workshop. Gretel, from Queenie’s Floral Design, will be hosting this online, winter wreath making session via Zoom. She is a florist and grower with a sustainable approach to her work.

Following a short introduction and demonstration, you will learn how to make your own seasonal wreath using fresh and dried, foraged materials. Think seed heads, pine cones, evergreen foliage and a thing else you can find that is sturdy enough to last outdoors, through the festive season. If you enjoy connecting to nature, and want a make a door wreath that is unique to you, then book a place. It will be a great way to kick off the festive season. This workshop will take place on 26th of November at 1pm.

Finally, Maria will be returning for an exploration of herbal uses during the festive season:

In a session discovering ‘Herbal Winter Health’, Maria will explore Winter Health preparations. She will look at how we can move through winter with the help of herbs and nature – covering simple syrups, mind medicine and the benefits of nurturing nature. This workshop will take place on Wednesday the 16th of December from 10.30 -12pm.
We are so excited for Winter Wonder to begin and we hope you will join us for some seasonal creativity in the sessions over the next few months. Thank you to the Culture Recovery Fund for heritage for making this programme possible.
